| For
many years now the DYNAMOS name
has been associated with the music business. They
have recorded 16 albums, 4 C.D.’s and 2
videos. These have been recorded in
Scotland,
Ireland
and Nashville
U.S.A.
Their
first recognition as a top Band was in 1968 when
the Daily
Record voted them one of the top 10 Bands
in Scotland. Over the years the Dynamos have won
over 100 awards and trophies in America, Ireland
and almost every area of the U.K. The Dynamos
have played Roundwood
Park, London to over 70,000 people, their
largest audience as part of the London/Irish Festival
and Manson Grant and the Dynamos also represented
Scotland in Nashville, Tennessee to a live audience
of over 21,000 people as part of the American
Country Music Associations Fan Fair celebrations
and appeared on stage at the Wembley
Pool Arena as part of the Country Music Festivals
there.
Manson
Grant and the Dynamos, although strongly
associated with Country music clubs and
Country Music, feature a wide range of music in
their repertoire. In many areas they
play theatres and concert venues, however, in
the N.E.
of Scotland they are mainly known
for their outstanding dance gigs. They work for
agricultural societies playing show dances
and marquees where they would feature a lot of
60’s music, rock ‘n’ roll, modern
and
standard country music, Irish
music and Scottish
music. Manson Grant and the Dynamos also catering
for dinner dances
and weddings, the bands prime objective is to
keep the dance floor busy where they would play
more Scottish dances, quicksteps
and fox-trots
as well as 60’s and country music yet in
a theatre situation can perform yet another completely
different programme.
Weddings,
Parties, Dinner Dances – At these events
the age group of the audience varies from
very
young to very old and to
supply music for everyone to enjoy is a difficult
task however
Manson Grant and the Dynamos always succeed with
their vast experience of these events and vary
their programme accordingly – their main
objective to keep the dance floor busy with an
extensive
programme of Scottish dancing, ballroom dancing
or 60’s/70’s music and rock ‘n’
roll.
As
music is the Bands profession, life and passion,
a professional and enthusiastic approach is always
evident from the moment they are on stage. Their
main objective is to please the people they are
playing to as can be verified by speaking to any
Fan Club member. Manson Grant and the Dynamos
Fan Club started by secretary Heather James in
1983 and still run by her today boasting over
1300 members.
Manson Grant and the Dynamos win Eildon
Centre 'Band of the Year' award 2 years
in succession. |
