Manson Grant and the Dynamos - Golden Memories
"From the opening acoustic guitar notes of the Carter
Family's 'Wildwood Flower' (how apt that it be incorporated
into a song entitled 'Golden Memories') to the last shimmering
jingle of the tambourine on 'Help Stamp Out Lonliness'
this album featuring top class musicianship from some of Nashville's
finest session players allied to the vocal and musical prowess
of Manson Grant, David Shearer and Robert Cameron is, quite
simply, the best ever release by Manson Grant and the Dynamos.
Produced in Nashville by one time Buckaroo, Mark Mosely,
this album not only features songs from established country
music luminaries such as Buck Owens, Mel Tillis and Carl Belew
but newer names such as Gary Gentry who has written songs
for George Jones, John Anderson and David Allen Coe, Texan
Bob Hasslett who provided the title track and the Nashville
based duo Tom Hamilton and Mal Stover.
Country Music Australian style gets an airing via Brian Letton's
'When We First Fell in Love' (which gave hime a number
one country hit in Australia in 1990) and the UK scene is
featured via my own composition 'The Best Years of My
Life'.
The enhancement of my song by the Nashville Pickers is, to
my ears, quite exceptional and far exceeds my expectations.
I hope that you, the listener, will feel the same with regard
to all ten tracks featured on this album. I do hope this album
is a success - it certainly deserves to be!"
