Pitlochry Fan Club Weekend
Thanks to everyone who made it to Pitlochry for our Fan
Club Weekend – 19th to 22nd November. We had a large
number of cards and thank yous and a couple of reports that
are listed here.
Here is our report for our weekend at Pitlochry
by Anne Bannerman.
We have had a good run down and hope all those travelling
had a good journey also.
After a welcoming meal we are all prepared for another great
weekend of fabulous music and "fun"!!!
"WE WERE NOT DISSAPOINTED"! ! ! ! !
Friday Evening
It is always nice to meet up with the fans that have attended
in previous years and also meet new ones.
Again this year the boys received their lovely ‘Red
Roses’ buttonholes from Judy and Carolyn which are greatly
appreciated.
Judy, Carolyn and Hazel sold the raffles and did a fantastic
job in selling them and excelled themselves as the total sales
this year made £1000 which is greatly appreciated and
Robert thanked all those who donated prizes and bought raffle
tickets.
As per usual Manson, Robert and Daniel started the evening
then Terence McKeag who was our compere this year introduced
by Robert and told us a few stories and jokes and ended this
part with a lovely sing along. He then introduced Shogun with
Gwenda who entertained us with a great selection of music.
To end our first evening Galaxy came on stage to a rousing
welcome and provided us with some brilliant music. (What a
talent there is in this band). It was a great way to end our
first evening!!!!!!!
Saturday Evening
On Saturday a bus trip visited Discovery Point in Dundee and
then went on for some shopping before going into the Caithness
factory at Perth finishing off at the Liqueur Centre at Bankfoot
before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.
After another lovely meal and ready for another great evening
Terence got us in the mood followed by Manson & Co getting
us off to a smashing start. Once they finished their session
Terence came back with some more jokes before welcoming Galaxy
back on stage. The evening came to an end with Shogun with
more great music. Another smashing evening of entertainment.
Sunday Evening
Another bus trip went to view the "Queens View"
before moving on to the House of Bruar and the Crannog Centre
before returning again in the late afternoon.
After another great meal - unfortunately this is our last
evening and time seems to have flown past.
Shogun got us off to a great start with more jokes from Terence
before Manson & Co came back for their final session.
Terence came back for the last time and introduced Galaxy
who did a brilliant job of ending a fantastic weekend.
We learned that Crawford Bell (part of Galaxy) had been invited
to take part in some concerts with Daniel O'Donnell in the
USA and he had to rush off after they finished to catch the
first ferry then on to the airport to the States for Tuesday
- We hope Crawford arrived safely and has a great time with
Daniel in the States.
For all of us it was another excellent weekend and everything
and everyone joining in and making it into a "3 Day Party"!!!!!!
On behalf of everyone we would like to take this opportunity
to thank all who were involved with the organising of the
weekend as it is greatly appreciated by all. We are eagerly
looking forward to the next one to be held in Aberdeen!!!!!!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! ! ! !

A super time was enjoyed by everyone at the Manson Grant
and the Dynamos Weekend – Fishers Hotel, Pitlochry –
19th to 22nd November, 2004. Superb accommodation with excellent
music supplied by Shogun from Orkney, the 6-piece Galaxy Showband
from Ireland and our fantastic hosts Manson, Robert and Daniel
McPhee. The weekend was compered by Terence McKeag a very
funny man from Co Down who kept us laughing and singing every
evening.
An outstanding raffle in aid of the Jim Sinclair Memorial
Fund raised a staggering £1000.
The weekend over far too quickly, friends travelling
from all over the UK. Looking forward to meeting up again
in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Ireland – 15th to 20th
May 2005 for the next Top Country Holiday. For details –
www.mansongrantandthedynamos.com
– this is going to be very special because at the end
George Dunnett and his sister in law Dorothy are going to
walk from Letterkenny back to Thurso in Scotland (approx 400
miles) to raise money for cancer research in memory of his
wife Alison. If anyone can help to boost the funds with this
amazing challenge, please look up
